Before you start to clean…
* You will need two sponges, Warm water, Some form of saddle soap and
some neatsfoot oil or leather dressing.
* Place your leather item on a scratch free surface.
* Start by removing the dirt with a damp sponge.
* Dampen the clean sponge and rub it into the saddle soap. Apply all over
the surface of the item, Don’t forget the reverse side.
* Rinse the sponge in warm water and remove any excess soap from the
leather.
* Apply leather conditioner or neatsfoot oil ‘ sparingly’ . Do not over oil your
leather items. Care must be taken when using neatsfoot oil because too
much oil can rot the stitching.
